Amanda Kai Newman
MILLINERY
Amanda took a hat making class at Penland School of Crafts in 2007 with Rod Givens and Ignatius Creegan and was hooked at making hats.
Amanda made hats for the Asolo Repetorys Production of Imginary Invalid (Des. Eduardo Sincago). This was the first production Amanda made hats for.
Then at Cornell College Amanda made hats for Pirates of Penzance (Des. Jenny Kelchen and Risa Alecci) and in Graduate school she was able to take more hat making classes and refine her skills and produce hats for productions. During Graduate School she worked in the Summers at the Utah Shakespeare Festival in 2013 and 2014 as a milliner for their productions.
